Justin Richer is the CTO of UberEther, and is a security architect, software engineer, standards editor, and systems designer with over two decades of industry experience. He is the lead author of OAuth2 In Action from Manning Publications (with Antonio Sanso) and contributor to OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect. Justin is the editor for the Grant Negotiation and Authorization Protocol (GNAP) and HTTP Message Signatures (RFC9421) standards in the IETF, and was the editor of the OAuth extensions for dynamic client registration (RFC 7591, RFC 7592), token introspection (RFC 7662), and rich authorization requests (RFC 9396); as well as Vectors of Trust (RFC 8485). Justin is the co-chair of the Workload Identity in Multi-System Environments (WIMSE) WG and previously chaired COSE in the IETF. Justin is a co-author of the US federal Digital Identity Guidelines (NIST SP 800-63), the US federal standard on smart cards, FIPS201, and the upcoming standard on PIV Federation, NIST SP 800-217.
